Privacy Policy

This website is run by Devin Gray, a comedian based in the UK. I'm the "controller" of any personal information you give me through this site, which means I decide how it's used and I'm responsible for looking after it.

I only collect what you choose to give me:

• Mailing list: your email address, the date you signed up and which page you signed up on. I use this to send you news about shows, clips and other updates. I rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Contact form: your name, email address and message. I use these to reply to you. This is in my legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch.
• Comedy writing booking form: your name, email address, message and the package you're interested in. I use these to arrange your sessions, which is a step towards entering a contract with you.
• Writing sessions: if you book, you'll send me your material (jokes, sets or scripts) by email, and we'll meet on Google Meet. I use your material only to prepare for and run your sessions. It stays yours, and I won't share or use it for anything else.

Forms also note which page they were sent from, so I know which parts of the site are working.

This website doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers.

To block spam, the contact, booking and mailing list forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that runs in the background and only asks you to tick a box if it isn't sure you're human. See "Who I share it with" below.

Clips on the Clips page are YouTube videos. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the video plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube (Google) may then collect information as described in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

I never sell your information. I use a few trusted services to run this site, which handle your information on my behalf:

• Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script), which stores the mailing list. Google Meet is used for writing sessions.
• Resend, which delivers messages from the contact and booking forms to my inbox.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile), which checks that form submissions come from a real person rather than a spam bot. To do this it looks at technical information about your browser and device. It's used only to stop spam, not to track you. Cloudflare's privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
• My email provider, where I receive and reply to your messages.
• Vercel, which hosts this website and processes basic technical information (such as your IP address) to deliver pages to you.

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

I may also share information if the law requires it.

• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.
• Enquiries: for up to two years after we last spoke, unless you become a client.
• Client records (such as bookings and payments): for as long as UK tax law requires, currently up to six years.
• Writing session material: until your sessions are finished, then deleted on request or within one year.

You can leave the mailing list at any time, in whichever way is easiest:

• Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email from me. Your email address will already be filled in, so just click the Unsubscribe button to confirm.
• Go to https://devingraycomedy.com/unsubscribe/, enter your email address and click Unsubscribe.
• Reply to any email from me, or email info@devingraycomedy.com, and I'll remove you myself.

When you unsubscribe through the website, your email address is deleted from the mailing list straight away. You're welcome to join again whenever you like.

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
• ask me to correct anything that's wrong
• ask me to delete your information
• object to, or ask me to limit, how I use it
• ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
• withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from the mailing list
• complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint
